JMC HR Consulting is pleased to partner with Crosby Foods in recruiting a Chief Financial Officer to join their team in Saint John, New Brunswick.

Founded in 1879, Crosby Foods Ltd is a fifth-generation, family-owned Canadian food manufacturer headquartered in Saint John, New Brunswick, best known for its Crosby and Grandma branded molasses products sold across Canada and the Northeastern US.

About the Opportunity

This is not a conventional accounting or reporting role. The CFO will work directly with the CEO, COO, senior leadership, and the independent advisory board, with visibility across the entire organization and real influence over its biggest strategic, operational, financial, and technology decisions, including executive oversight of Information Technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner directly with the CEO, COO, senior leadership, and advisory board on strategic, operational, financial, and technology decisions
  • Build stronger enterprise planning, budgeting, forecasting, and capital allocation processes
  • Identify where the company should invest and which growth opportunities deserve priority
  • Monitor and manage cash flow, margins, and overall financial performance
  • Determine which customers, products, and business lines create the most value
  • Set priorities for systems, data, cybersecurity, automation, and AI adoption as executive lead of IT
  • Bring greater financial discipline and visibility while preserving the company's entrepreneurial pace
  • Lead and develop the Finance function and its people

 

Ideal Qualifications

  • Currently a CFO, VP of Finance, divisional finance leader, or senior financial executive ready for broader enterprise responsibility
  • Experience in manufacturing, food, consumer products, or another operationally complex environment
  • Strong financial fundamentals paired with sound commercial judgment
  • Comfortable moving between high-level strategy and hands-on execution
  • Strategic, analytical, decisive, confident, curious, and commercially aware
  • Comfortable respectfully challenging ownership and leadership
  • Able to simplify complexity and build credibility across finance, operations, sales, technology, and governance
  • Family-business experience is an asset but not required
