As Luminultra continues to expand its presence in the Oil & Gas sector, the organization is seeking an Account Manager who can bring a strong scientific foundation to customer conversations, translate complex technical information into practical solutions, and contribute to the growth of key accounts.


This remote opportunity is ideally suited to a candidate based in the Houston, Texas area.


Overview

The Account Manager, Oil & Gas, will work closely with customers throughout the energy sector to understand their operational challenges and identify how Luminultra’s molecular diagnostic solutions can support microbial monitoring, asset integrity, corrosion management, and overall system performance.


This role is well suited to someone with a background in microbiology, molecular biology, chemistry, environmental science, engineering, or another related scientific discipline who is interested in applying their technical expertise in a customer-facing capacity. While previous sales and Oil & Gas experience would be valuable, Luminultra is open to candidates who bring strong scientific knowledge, curiosity, and the ability to build trusted relationships.


The successful candidate will be comfortable discussing technical concepts with customers, learning their operations, and connecting scientific insights to practical business outcomes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a strong understanding of customer operations, technical challenges, and microbial monitoring needs.
  • Serve as a knowledgeable and trusted resource to existing and prospective customers.
  • Translate complex scientific and technical information into clear, practical recommendations.
  • Help customers identify solutions related to microbial monitoring, asset integrity, corrosion management, and system performance.
  • Support customer onboarding, product adoption, training, and ongoing education.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships across customer organizations.
  • Identify opportunities to expand the use of Luminultra’s solutions within existing and prospective accounts.
  • Collaborate with internal scientific, technical, marketing, and commercial teams to support customer success.
  • Maintain accurate customer, opportunity, and activity information within the CRM.
  • Participate in customer meetings, conferences, trade shows, and industry events as required.
  • Stay informed on relevant scientific developments, industry challenges, and emerging applications.


Experience & Qualifications

  • A degree or diploma in microbiology, molecular biology, chemistry, biochemistry, environmental science, engineering, or a related scientific or technical field.
  • Experience applying scientific or technical knowledge to real-world customer, operational, research, laboratory, or industrial challenges.
  • The ability to understand complex scientific information and communicate it clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • A curious and consultative approach, with an interest in understanding customer challenges and helping identify practical solutions.
  • A proactive, self-directed working style with strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
  • Customer-facing, account management, business development, technical sales, or applications support experience is preferred but not required.
  • Experience within Oil & Gas, industrial processing, water treatment, chemical treatment, corrosion management, or a related sector is considered an asset.
  • Experience using a CRM system is considered an asset.

Salary: $100,000–$125,000 USD
