JMC HR Consulting is partnering with Bretoba Contracting to recruit an experienced and reliable Electrician (Journeyperson) for their team in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. This is a full-time, permanent, year-round (non-seasonal) opportunity for a skilled electrical professional ready to contribute to high-quality residential and light commercial builds across rural Cape Breton.

Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for electrical systems from rough-in to final finish on custom residential and light commercial projects. You'll work alongside other skilled tradespeople, ensure all installations meet code and quality standards, and support project planning through material estimates and coordination with site leadership.

Reporting to site supervisors and the project management team, you will play a key role in executing electrical work in alignment with overall project timelines and expectations.

This role is ideal for a certified electrician who takes pride in precise, high-quality work, values collaboration with other trades, and understands how well-planned electrical systems contribute to the safety, performance, and comfort of a completed build.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute all phases of electrical installation from rough-in to final fixtures and terminations.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Support material take-offs and electrical order lists as required.
• Maintain high-quality workmanship standards, precision, and attention to detail in all work performed.
• Work collaboratively with site supervisors, project managers, and other trades to support overall project schedules.
• Ensure all electrical installations comply with the Canadian Electrical Code and applicable provincial regulations and safety standards.
• Support and mentor apprentices on best practices and safe work habits as opportunities arise.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues and provide practical solutions to keep projects on track.

Qualifications & Experience

• Journeyperson Electrician certification (required).
• 5 years of relevant electrical experience.
• Experience working on residential and light commercial projects.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
