Seed Cleaning Technician

On behalf of our client, Kletke Seeds Farm, we are recruiting for a Seed Cleaning Technician. Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Seed Cleaning Technician is learning on the job all activities related to the cleaning of forage seeds. The Seed Cleaning Technician is also expected to assist in coordination of shipments from all seed suppliers.


As the Seed Cleaning Technician, you will:

  • Coordinate the receiving of product and assist in scheduling with all plant operations
  • Operate plant seed cleaning machinery in accordance with standard operating procedures
  • Monitor the cleaned seed for quality control
  • Grade seed and determine dockage according to established standards
  • Weigh trucks in and out of the plant
  • Responsible for forage seed location and storage
  • Assist with loading and unloading seed
  • Maintain communication with Production Coordinators
  • Keep all work areas clean and tidy
  • Operate a forklift
  • Contribute to and participate in the success of our Quality Management System
  • Meet all legal and other requirements (e.g. Workplace Safety and Health, Environment Act, Seeds Canada Certifications and contractual obligations)
  • Other duties as assigned

 

You and Your Experience:

  • 1-3 years of experience directly related to production in a seed treating plant
  • Certified forklift operator
  • Must be considerate and can interact with other employees, supervisors, management, and customers in a professional manner
  • Effective problem solving
  • High-level mathematical, analytical and communication skills
  • Strong initiative, utilizes creativity and capable of working with minimal supervision
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Possess a valid Province of Manitoba driver’s license
