On behalf of our client, Taylor McCaffrey LLP, we are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Human Resources Assistant to join their team. Reporting directly to the HR Manager, the HR Assistant supports the delivery of a broad range of HR functions while helping ensure the efficient day-to-day operation of the department.


The Human Resources Assistant plays an important role in supporting systems training, employee programs, recruitment and onboarding initiatives, staff relations activities, and HR administration. The ideal candidate is approachable, proactive, and confident in building relationships across all levels of the firm.


As the Human Resources Assistant, you will:

  • Provide administrative support to the HR team, maintaining employee records, preparing documentation, and ensuring information is accurate and confidential.
  • Support recruitment activities, including candidate screening, interview coordination, reference checks, and preparation of employment offers and related documentation.
  • Coordinate onboarding and orientation activities, prepare new hire documentation, facilitate introductory training, and support a positive employee experience.
  • Maintain onboarding resources, training plans, and learning materials to support employee development.
  • Respond to employee inquiries and provide support related to HR policies, procedures, employment verification requests, and workplace programs.
  • Assist with performance management processes, HR reporting, and workforce-related documentation.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives by coordinating staff events, recognition programs, and other workplace activities.
  • Assist with employee offboarding and the preparation of termination-related documentation and records.
  • Contribute to HR projects, process improvements, and a variety of initiatives across the employee lifecycle.


You and Your Experience:

  • Administrative experience, preferably within Human Resources.
  • Education in Human Resources, Business, or a related field is considered an asset.
  • Strong understanding of HR practices, employment standards, and confidentiality requirements.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work efficiently with exceptional time management and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HR/payroll systems; Payworks experience is an asset.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience within a legal or professional services environment is considered an asset.
