On behalf of our client, Taylor McCaffrey LLP, we are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounts Payable Clerk to join their Finance team. This role supports the firm's financial operations by ensuring the timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, reconciliations, and related accounting activities.

 

Reporting to the Director of Finance, the AP Clerk plays an important role in managing vendor payments, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting the broader accounting team. The ideal candidate is highly organized, demonstrates strong attention to detail, and possesses the ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

 

As the Accounts Payable Clerk, you will:

  • Process invoices through online payments, cheque payments, and corporate credit card transactions.
  • Communicate with vendors regarding invoices, payments, and remittances.
  • Reconcile corporate credit card statements and petty cash funds.
  • Assist with firm accrual management activities.
  • Provide administrative and accounting support to the Accountant and broader Finance team.
  • Ensure compliance with financial requirements and Law Society guidelines.
  • Perform additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned.

 

You and Your Experience:

  • Minimum of three years of experience in an accounts payable or related accounting role.
  • Certificate in accounting, bookkeeping, business, or equivalent education/experience.
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting, bookkeeping, and finance principles.
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online (QBO) is considered an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications with advanced Excel capabilities.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent proofreading and accuracy skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally and tactfully with team members, suppliers, and vendors.
  • Demonstrated discretion, professionalism, and sound judgment when handling confidential information.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Strong work ethics, personal accountability, integrity, and commitment to ethical conduct.
